I have been in a super creating card mode lately, and have finished two more cards using Momenta's Family Forever Collection! I haven't had a chance to use it during my DT term, and I LOVE the colours of the paper! So I finally pulled it out! Here are the two cards that I created:

Today, I gave Taylor her first time out :(... She is as smart as a whipper snapper, and understands everything we say, so I thought I would "try" her out.... she stayed in her time out, and even said sorry...I think she has seen her brother have enough time outs to master what she should be doing! Of course I snapped a photo of her:

Lovin' Me Some Vintedge!

It's my day up on the RUBY ROCK-IT BLOG! This week we were challenged to use the versatile line: VINTEDGE to create projects that were not "travel related"! We also had an earlier sneak to use as our inspiration. I loved working with this collection, and here is what I created:

My inspiration from the ad, was the keyhole... I based my layout around the key sticker, and the title of course:

Of course here is my cute little cluster of embellishments:

My next two projects were cards I created. I took the four panels of the door, to create this card:

And used the keyhole again to emphasize the "heart"....

Daycare and Weekend Update

This weekend was once again, a busy one! On Sunday Jordan and Josh both had basketball, which Jordan scored 4 baskets (out of the 5 for her team!)... so she was on cloud nine! Saturday afternoon was errands and cleaning! Sunday was a fun day! Since the weather was so nice we decided to go for a walk/sledding in the shorthills! We had so much fun, and the kids LOVED it! Here are some pictures:

I have been trying all weekend to do a post for my daycare parents and I am finally getting a chance! The last couple of weeks we have been having SNOW much fun! We have been learning about snowflakes, blizzards, snowmen, winter clothes, and of course our snow olympics! We even spent two days doing a literacy unit on the Three Little Kittens (they LOVED this!) Here are some photos from last week:

Good Morning Tuesday!
I had some "time" last week, and dived into some my Nikki Collections (trust me there is a lot!). I think everytime I see Nikki's paper, I don't get just one, or two... but most of time time THREE sheets... and sometimes I wonder if that's enough! I always find it so easy to work with, so why not right?

Weekend Update

Happy Monday Blog Readers!

Today I wanted to blog about my "word"... instead of making resolutions up every year, which never seem to work out, I decided to jump on the ban wagon, and think of one word to focus on... and that is:

Anyone that knows me, knows what a crazy, hectic life I have! I work from 7 am until 5pm (not including daycare clean up), and then I run my kiddo's around to their activities- Dance, Swimming, Ball Hockey, Basketball, and then of course my scrapbooking, my big stress reliever! Also, I am trying to work on baking and cooking from scratch (YIKES!)... and yes trying to hit the gym MORE than once a week! It can be done... I just need to balance! My husband laughs at me, and thinks this should be my word instead:

JUGGLE

Most people think I am super organized, but in my eyes there is always room for improvement! So this weekend we focused on decluttering and organizing many areas in our house! There is still a ton of work to do, but its nice to know we are on the right track! I will have pictures soon!

It's finally Snowing and my Gel-a-tin Reveal

Happy Friday Everyone!

I am so glad its Friday! It was a very LONG week, trying to get back into the swing of things with work, activities, and of course adjusting to the time change from our New Zealand trip. When we were away, the weather was fantastic here (so I'm told!), but today we finally got a taste of winter. Josh was up, dressed, and outside playing in the snow at 8am, and Jordan (and the rest of the school age kids) shortly after. It was FREEZING outside, but they didn't seem to mind (especially since I gave them some hot chocolate before getting on the bus for school). The younger kids were a different story. It was too cold to go outside and play in it, so why not bring the snow INSIDE, right? A scary thought, at first, but the kids LOVED it! I put the snow in a bin, and added our "snow plows"and people. Seth decided that animals needed to go in too. After, Josh and Derek, made snow pizza's. I love it, when you see their creativity come out! Taylor loved it, but liked getting dressed up with her hat and boots before playing more.

Some more activities that we did this week included: SNOWBALL COUNTING, SNOWBALL THROWS, PASS THE SNOWBALL, and LOTS of crafts! The kids had a blast with the styrofoam balls, and played with them throughout the week, inventing their own games at times.

Sketch Challenge at Ruby Rock-it (and my reveal!)

I'm up on the Ruby Rock-it today! This week we are playing along a sketch challenge that Amanda posted on Sunday. You can see her post: HERE. We were asked to create a project using her sketches that she created using the NEW Nostalgia Collection (LOVE THIS!), and you know how much I love sketches! I first chose the layout sketch:

and this is what I came up with:

Love this picture of my niece. She is a budding actress in Toronto, and really LOVES it! She even has a seasame street gig soon! (thanks to my friend Deanna for the photo too!) Here are a few close ups of the layout:

I am in LOVE with banner stickers that Ruby Rock-it creates! So super cute! And the cute little flowers are to die for! I seriously couldn't stop feeling them (crazy, I know!)

Another border sticker at the top that I shortened, and tied the PAPER twine! Yes, you heard me PAPER twine! ITS AWESOME. You can manipulate and its thick BUT workable! Chipboard stores, that are part of the FUNDAMENTALS line (you are going to LOVE these!) Seriously, Ruby Rock-it has BLOWN it out of the park with this collection! It is my all time favorite collection, and so super versatile, you will be seeing lots more of this line from me soon!

The Party is starting.... and on my way home....

Our time is almost up here in New Zealand, and we will be getting on the plane in less than 24 hours now, to make the big 36 hours of travel back to our little small town in Ontario. We have had such a fantastic time, and I will have even more pictures to share once I get home and get organized. Until then, I have soooooooo missed crafting, and am so excited about the upcoming CHA!

There is party going on, that just started over on the RUBY ROCK-IT BLOG! For the month of January we are celebrating the new year with the new Ruby Rock-it collections set to release at CHA Winter 2012! Each week you will have the chance to WIN some brand new goodies if you play along with us. Yay!

Hi everyone! The final few days are winding down now, and we have been busy with lots of activities. Since I have last blogged, we have gone on a few walks, said goodbye to our family members, and had our last family reunion event in Queenstown.

We went for a walk with our two nephews, and yes, I finally got a picture of me! Here is me with Taylor on my back, and my 11 year old nephew, who is already taller than me!

For our last family event we went for nice little cruise on an old steamship, and then for a nice dinner, and finally a sheep show! Here are some pictures from that event:

This was our New years eve trip, and Taylor, Josh and Jordan stayed awake until 10:30 pm. Josh fell asleep for the car ride home at 11:15, and Jordan shortly after that. After, we settled down for a New Years Drink on the deck with Taryn's parents.

The next day, the kids were exhausted, and not in the best of moods, so we stayed put, and let them rest up! Today was different! Another jam packed day full of activity! We went for a drive and did a walk at the Blue Pools. These two pictures were at a look at point on our way there! It was such a beautiful day!

When we finally got there the walk was really nice! Here is a cute picture of all three kids in a tree:

We also did a quick 10 minute walk, where we let Taylor try and walk the path! She did great! Here is the cutest picture of her:

We went for a nice lunch at a local cafe, then I took Jordan and Josh to the local Movie Theatre to see the Adventures of Tin-Tin. Jordan and Josh both loved the movie, but I think they loved the movie theatre better, since it was a small movie theatre that could seat about 40 people maximum, but had old couches and lazy boys, and even a bug car you could sit in! We of course picked the nice leather couch right up from to watch the movie from! We ordered some chips, lollies (candy), and during intermission, we got some ice cream! A very FUN day! Tomorrow is another busy day, and I am hoping to have one more blog post before we get home!! Hope everyone had a great New Years!

Happy New Year Everyone! Today I thought I would share with you my favorite layouts and projects of the past year. Here is my top ten (in no particular order):

Driving a Monster Truck???

Only in New Zealand would they let a 5 year old boy drive a monster truck. Yes, that is exactly what happened! Yesterday, we arrived at the Monster Truck Place, and we all boarded the BIG YELLOW SCHOOL BUS MONSTER TRUCK:

I was scared out of my mind! I could handle a lot, but really, a monster truck? Anyways, we all had a turn driving the monster truck! We drove up hills and down, and through a little river, over bumps so large, we got rattled in our seats. The highlight though was when we went to the little oval loop, and ALL the kids were given a chance to drive. Josh was in his glory! He loves watching monster trucks, so can you imagine being five years old, and now being able to say to his friends, "yep, I drove a monster truck!" He did everything, gas, steering, and he was amazing! Jordan did great too, she was as safe as safe could be, while Josh started off with a little bit of a heavy foot!(lol!). Taylor did great too! She thought it was like a walk in the park and fell asleep for some of it.

After we were given a chance to go on an ATV ride. Once again the smile on Josh's face was priceless! He rode with his daddy, while Jordan rode with Auntie Koren, and I stayed back with Taylor. After we cleaned ourselves up, and heading to a nice restaurant to celebrate some big "birthdays" of the year. It was a fabulous day!

Today we are recovering from our excitement, and headed to the beach with our kids and Jack and Ben. We played around, and this afternoon we are going to head into town to either the toy museum or Puzzle World. Pictures from this morning at the beach:

Christmas Traditions Projects with Ruby Rock-it

How does Santa arrive in New Zealand?

On a bike, of course!! Merry Christmas everyone! I hope everyone had a great Christmas! It's been a busy last few days with events planned with our family reunion!

Christmas Eve, we went for a really nice boat ride, and hiked up a mini mountain where we got to see some rare birds- WEKA. One particularly liked Josh, and thought about pecking at his feet. We were able to play on beach, go swimming, and then enjoy a nice bbq dinner. Here is a picture of Josh with the Weka:

On our "down time" Taryn and I have taken the kids to a few nice beaches. The kids really liked playing in the beach, and with the hot weather, it has been perfect beach weather!Some beach photos for you:

Tomorrow is the day Josh has been waiting for! He gets to ride in a monster truck, drive an ATV, and go karting... This will be the highlight of his trip for sure! Hopefully it won't take me as long to update our trip next time! Until then!

Two more days of Adventure!

Hi everyone!!
Yesterday was a busy day, where we took the kids to tackle their first mountain (mt. Iron)... Taryn and I honestly didn't think the kids would make it to the top, but with a little whining and some bribing about being the only kids at their school to climb a mountain, they both did it! They were both very proud of their accomplishment (as were we!). The rest of the day was spent visiting with their cousins, and playing their new favorite sport-cricket.

Today, we ventured off to Queenstown, which is about 1 1/2 hours from Wanaka. Here we went up the Gonala, and went Luging down the mountain! The kids loved this (so did Taryn!) And then we watched their older cousins Budgy Jump! Jordan claims she wants to do it, but not until she is 16. Here is some shots of the excitement today!

Finally we went to the park for some leisure time, so here are some photos:

And finally a little glimpse of paradise that we see everyday! This picture was on our drive home from Queenstown today.

We are here!

If you can believe it, we are finally here! It was a bit of a rough start, as Taryn forgot Jordan's passport on the printer of the computer, and had to drive the whole way back and be back before 1:30... our bags were checked at 1:28 pm, at that point we had to RUN to our gate after checking security, where we just made the plane by two minutes. Yes, we were the family running through the airport! The kids were so well behaved on the airplanes, and really the long trip was a lot easier than I thought! We did get some luck as there was ONE seat open on the plane, and it happened to be near us, so Taylor had a little sleep on it!

Jordan was lucky enough to hand out "lollies" on the plane! We arrived in Queenstown after 33 hours of travel, a lot of stress, but a lot of fun! Here is a picture of the kids outside the last airplane we went on!

We rented a car and here is the kids in it, on our drive to Wanaka! They were in remarkable good spirits!

Today they got to meet their cousins for the first time, and also got play cricket which they LOVE... I have a feeling we will be playing a lot of cricket here, and we will be teaching their friends this summer! Today we also got to play in the sprinkler:

The Jet Leg has been okay, Taylor is having a hard time adjusting, and I was up with her from 2 am until 4 pm... Tomorrow, more family arrive so the kids will have even more family to play with!

Still Flying, and Up on the Momenta Blog

I made a travel journal for my daughter Jordan to use while we are on vacation. I know, I know, she will get it a bit early, but... all in all, it is SUPER cute! Hi Everyone! As you are reading this, my family and I have started to embark on a crazy and very long journey to New Zealand. 36 hours of travel time with three kids. A recipe for disaster? I hope not! The positive is we will get to see my husband's family, which he hasn't seen in years. Our kids will meet cousins they have never met, and everyone will meet Taylor for the first time. Here is a photo of where we are going to be:

I know! Its simply breathtaking! My kids will see "real mountains" for the first time! I am sure there will be alot of firsts for them all! I am hoping that I will be able to document our journey on my blog here... as well as a blog that I created for my kids to use too. They want to be able to write to their friends about their trip and to be able to share their experience with them. A little bit of Sunshine coming our way?

Hi everyone! Less than 24 hours until we embark on a journey of a lifetime to New Zealand! Unfortunately, we have been struck by the flu, and Taylor, Jordan, and my husband have been sick (and still are). Josh and myself have so far escaped the yuckiness (and hoping to keep it that way!)... So please send us some happy, healthy thoughts!

The nice thing about New Zealand, is that it is their summer down there! Yippee! No more snow, sleet and cold winds to deal with for the next three weeks! I thought I would share with you a summer layout I created using the all TOO FUN Nikki Sivils SUMMER Collection! I love how Nikki has such cute cut outs to use and those sticker collections are amazing! You get so much on one sheet!! So here is that layout I created:

Up on the Gel-a-tins Blog and First Snow!

We finally got some snow that stayed on the ground, and to the kids delight it was "packy snow"! Jordan and Josh and the rest of the school age kids here on Friday had a blast building snowmen, snowforts, and snowangels... I think they just wish there was more! Here is Josh rolling a snowball:

Finally, here is Taylor, enjoying the first snow, surprizingly enough! She didn't complain when she fell a dozen times (even in the puddle!) What a trooper!

And Taylor's newest thing is emptying out her drawer, and trying on not one but SEVERAL pieces of clothing all at once! Starting to be independent already!

Yes, its been almost a week, and I am missing my scrapping world friends... but all for good reason... I have kept this quiet but now that its here I am getting excited/nervous.... My family and I are heading to New Zealand this Christmas to visit with my husbands family! We are excited to get there, nervous about flying with 3 kids under 7 over 35 hours... So I am in super planning mode! Trying to figure out how to occupy them all on the airplane! I have created FUN BAGS for each kid, where I can take out a small activity/toy for them to play with.... I have A LOT... and am hoping they will last for the flight back too! The only real problem is Taylor... what do you do with a busy toddler??? Yes, it is going to be very difficult! So, I'm sorry blog readers, that I haven't been as faithful this past week! I have also been busy with CHA assignmnts, and regular assignments for the month, to make sure I am caught up before going. There are a lot of fun things planned this month, and I am hoping to do some pre-post blogging before I go, so the blog won't seem so empty :)....

Finally, some Santa pictures to share with you! We took Josh and Taylor to see Santa yesterday! Jordan went to a kids club with her friend at church! Josh was so super cute, showing Santa his list! Well we finally got our first real snow! It stayed on the ground briefly for 5 minutes... but it was perfect timing, because it was at the time that the kindergarteners had to catch the bus at lunch! Here is my son:

Hi Everyone!! Its hard to believe that its Monday!!! Where did the weekend go, (AGAIN!)... find I say that every weekend, sometimes I wish life would just slow down a bit! Stamps to Colouring Pages

Hi everyone! Did everyone have a busy week! I know I did! We were at my sisters this past weekend, and every time we are away, I feel like we play catch-up during the week! I finally feel like we have "caught" up and its already the weekend (well almost!)... Today is my day on the Gel-a-tin Blog and its a fun one!!! Having a home daycare, I am constantly trying to find ways to use my scrappy supplies and to get the kids interested in crafting! After receiving the ONCE UPON A TIME stamp from Gel-a-tins, I knew I needed to incorporate it into my StoryBook Theme week at the end of November! The stamp has LOTS of detail and is perfect for cards, but not for toddlers to colour in! So I tried to photocopy the image and enlarge it at the same time! It worked perfectly and I love the results! I made a poster to introduce the theme of the week:

You can see the small stamped image at the bottom! These stamps are amazing and really hold up when photocopying the image! I was worried about losing the detail, but the results were amazing!! Here are a few of the kids exploring the wonderful world of Gel-a-tin's Stamps:

We also used the Castle Stamp to colour a couple of castles to re-create the Jack in the Beanstalk story! Here is a picture of our "wall art"...

My Ruby Rock-it Reveal & a Gel-a-tin Reveal!

I'm up on the Ruby Rock-it Blog today! Introducing... ME! Since this my Ruby Rock-it Debut, I thought I would share with you my Ruby Rock-it Submissions for my Design Team Application....

Here is my layout I made! I love this layout, and be one of my fav's of all time! A layout of my son on the swing this past summer! he goes way too high, and I always tease him that he will fly to the moon if he goes any higher! Here is a close up:

I used the castle image on the Once upon time Stamp set! I stamped it on a kraft envelope and coloured it in with copics. I love this subtle look! I am now able to send some lunch notes in my daughters bag for her to read a lunch time!

So sorry too that its been a whole week! Life just doesn't seem to slow down! This week we were struck with sickness! Taylor was the only one to get it (touch wood!!)... but that was enough! The kids got their report card (all did super well!), parent teacher interviews, painting our rec-room, and starting to work on some top-secret CHA stuff!! (I know its hard to believe CHA is coming!).... Well I am going to leave you with two pictures from my kids on CRAZY hair day! Josh has the usual boy cut, so he opted for the afro wig!

Its been a busy week again, since my husband has been working afternoons. I have rushing out almost every night with the kids running them to their activities. I am looking forward to this weekend!

In the daycare, we have been busy talking about animals of the forest! We have talked about Bears, Deer, Moose, and many more friendly creatures! We have spent a lot of time out doors this week, since the weather has been AMAZING... and we even went for A BIG walk last week when Taryn was here with me to the YMCA! How is everyone handling the time change... The daycare kiddos had a bit of a wrangy, crazy day! It seemed like we couldn't get anything done *sigh*... but tomorrow is another day :).... We had a busy weekend with Jordan and Josh both playing basketball at 9 am at two different schools, then Josh had a 30 minute break, and then off to ball hockey (where he scored 2 goals!) Way to go Josh!... Off I went with Jordan running some errands, and then back to feed Taylor, and then off to watch basketball at our local college here with Jordan. Josh went to a birthday party!... It was NON-stop like this all weekend! It's amazing I get anything done...

Yesterday I was up on the Momenta blog, and I am just getting around to posting it! I thought I would have time on Sunday... but once again, time flew by! Here is the layout I did:

It's hard to believe that Halloween is tomorrow night! Where did the time go! It was a busy weekend... we had the kids activities in the morning on Saturday, and I taught a class at the Scrapping Nook on Sat. afternoon (GREAT class ladies!)... and Sunday was kept busy by cleaning, groceries, and getting the "November" things ready in the daycare. I was up on the blog for Momenta on Saturday, and I thought I would share the "bucket" I created! I LOVE how this turned out... I almost don't want to use it, because I like it so much! lol!

A little Ruby Rocket and a Weekend Update..

How was everyone's weekend? The weekend seemed to fly by for us! We were busy with the kids sports on Saturday morning, and I taught at a Scrapbook Retreat On Saturday afternoon, and we had some friends over for dinner Saturday evening. Sunday was no different! Errands, groceries, shopping, BUT we did manage to fit in a walk! I also got to play around a bit more with some Ruby Rock-it! I can't say enough about this company! I simply LOVE the paper and all the embellies! Here is what I created:

My Little Pumpkins! (picture heavy!)

This week wraps up our Pumpkin and Jack-o-lantern week in the daycare! I love this week, as there is so many fun activities that we do, that its really hard to get to them all! My favorite of course is baking day & carve our pumpkins day!... Here are some photos:

Although Taylor is kinda of fuzzy, I LOVE her expression.. .you can imagine, how quick I have to be between putting that huge pumpkin on her, having pulpy and seedy pumpkin hands, and trying to get a photo! lol!

Oh Josh.... I am so proud, I gave him a butter knife to try and cut the pumpkin himself! He did a great job, but decided he wanted a black pumpkin, and coloured it with a permanant marker... ... Derek helped him too, but was a little camera shy today!

I had to include a picture of one of my before school kids... Dawson.... you are a cutie!!

Taylor, yes she likes to eat paint, glue, and whatever craft she can get into... and she wants to do crafts ALL the time right now! (again another fussy photo though... the kid won't stay still!)

We did ice cube painting earlier in the week, with a pumpkin ice cube tray! I added a little pit of food colouring and voila! Josh of course wanted more colours and added more paint...

Destination Create 2011

Hi everyone! I will be teaching a class at Destination Create this Saturday! We will be using 6 bean soup from Jillibean Soup (love this line!)... and we will be completing two layouts (a double page layout and a single page!) Lots of fun techniques too! (*Double layout was inspired by a sketch at Sketch Support... my favorite sketch site!) (I apologize for the dullness of the photos, but it has been dark and dreary for the last two days!)

I won't be attending the retreat (I know I am crying too about it!)... but at least I get to be there to teach for an afternoon! Maybe there might be a photo or too!! Oh yay... Jordan and Josh did AMAZING, however, little Taylor wasn't cutting a tooth, and also got a cold/cough which made her slightly miserable... Deanna managed to get a photo or two of her. Seasons in the Daycare!

Hi everyone! I remembered to post my weekly daycare post!... This week, was a short week due to Thanksgiving, but we managed to squeeze in lots of fun activities! The kids learned about the different seasons, and we talked about the different activities that we do during each season! I LOVE summer and fall.... I could do without the whole winter thing, though! Here is a group craft we did together this week:

I love doing group crafts, and this one was so much fun! We stamped snowflakes on the tree for winter, put fall leaves on the tree and on the ground for fall, we punched out green leaves and glued them on the tree for summer, and we finger stamped the leaves for spring, and punched pink blossoms out for spring too! The kids loved this, and so did I!!

We also had "C " Day, where we learned what sound it makes, and we learned lots of words that C started with! Here is our C craft:

Corn (well Indian Corn!)... we punched out circles and then added them to precut ears of corn!

Finally, ever wonder what it looks like at snack time? Its always a little chaotic and messy... but always fun! Here is my snack group (minus picture shy Josh!) on Friday morning! I think it was scrambled eggs and toast, and I added banana and strawberries too! Yummy:

I was so challenged this month when I opened up the kit I received from my LSS... I looked in to see: PIXIE GLEN by Prima... don't get me wrong, I LOVE it, but compared to what I am use to working with, I had to really think about what I was going to do! So far I have tackled one layout, and I have to say... LOVE it! Sometimes doing something you are not use too, helps make you think a little more creatively! Here is my first layout for the Scrapping Nook:

I have been busy playing with the Paper Boy and Paper Girl Collections by Ruby Rock-it... and I have to say when I got my scrappy package in the mail... I fell in LOVE with their products! So much fun, and such high quality products! Even though I was sick this weekend, I dived right into some projects for their design team call! I even had some extras, so I made a couple more cards... here is one:

This is the paper girl collection and I love the colours!! The textures of their embellies are amazing, I used some felt flowers, along with their chipboard! SO cute!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian followers! This weekend I didn't do much as my allergies hit me this weekend, like a ton of bricks. I am surprised I got the energy to get up and cook a turkey! It was a nice and quiet Thanksgiving, with my mom visiting us.

It was my turn on the Momenta Blog today! You will have to excuse "me" in the picture! Yes, I scrapped me, but only because I caught (what I thought) was a huge fish! It was all very exciting for me in the kids! The bad news, I was in my P.J's... and I didn't brush my hair... oh what a moment! Here is the layout:

This past week in the daycare, we have been talking about "GIVING THANKS", and what we are Thankful for... All the kids had such cute responses... usually it was mommy or daddy, or my sisters. We all learned how to gobble like a turkey, and of course the weather was sooooo nice we played outside as much as we could!

Another new cutie started over the last couple of week! Lily is such a sweet and happy girl! Here is her crafting away:

This first card I used some shimmer and shine stickers as well as a flair sticker... and the cute little die cut swirl... from the card kit... but it is actually part of the envelope! I loved the shape of it, and could resist in using it!

For this card I used the flourishes from this line and all other products were from the card kit!

I love how this card turned out! I add the gems in the card kit to the sentiment and the flourish is from the free to be me line too!

We pretty much had to start the computer from scratch and HOPEFULLY all our files were saved, my husband is working on that this week! I hope everyone had a good weekend! It was (of course!) another busy one for us! Josh had his first ball hockey game on Saturday, which I did forget my camera (oops!), and then he had a birthday party. On Sunday, I got caught up on some October daycare Planning, and we planned a trip to the apple orchard where I got to take some fun photos! Here are a couple of my fav's:

Apples, Apples, Everywhere!

This week in the daycare, we have been learning all about apples! This is one of my favorite themes of the whole year! One reason is there is so many crafts and learning activities to do.... and I LOVE making applesauce with the kiddos! This year I used a slow cooker recipe from this site: A YEAR OF SLOWCOOKING. I have to say the kids did a fantastic job! Here are some of my favorite photos:

Taylor loved stirring the apples (and she liked sneaking them too from the looks of her mouth!)

Josh, was once again a BIG HELP! He has really become a little teacher this year being in SK. Grayson and Derek each got a turn to add some ingredients too!

Lauren is the newest addition to Luv-a-Lot Daycare, and she is doing great with her first full week of daycare under her belt now! She REALLY LOVES apples, playing with them and eating them too!

Tay's little boyfriend Seth is quite the funny little toddler right now! I think he ate two apples during the whole process of making the applesauce (I think he would have continued to eat seeds, core, and stem if I let him... I know mom isn't surprised!)

This is mini-Josh or Grayson, he loves doing WHATEVER Josh is doing... Such a cute photo of him!!

Finally (this was from earlier in the week!) during circle time, but it is soooo cute! We were learning the parts of an apple- Here we have Julia, Taylor, and Tessa! Taylor kept looking at the labeled learning card and the apple I sliced in half, it was so cute to see her exploring and learning!

Next week we start our first week of FALL FUN! (another favorite of mine!)

Nothing Beats A Vicki Boutin Garage Sale

I know, I know, I said I wouldn't buy anymore scrappy supplies, BUT I am lucky enough to have Vicki live so close to me, who could resist!! Her prices are amazing, and got some items that are RECENT, and that I have wanted!! So here are some pics of my finds... ALL for $30!!! I know I was doing my happy dance too!

Lots of PINK PAISLEE, and chipboard letters, and Bo Bunny, and Jillibean soup... the complete kit from cosmo!! Oh my!!

I seriously could have stayed and spent more... but I know for the most part, a lot of these supplies will stay cooped up in my scraproom (lol)....

Momenta Project & Guess where we were today?

Hi everyone! I am up on the Momenta Blog today with a quick altered project that I made for Jordan! Here is what I made from a good old coffee tin:

I used the clear dimensional stickers as pencils toppers for her! She LOVED them! You check out all the details on the Momenta Blog!

Also, I am sooooooooooooo lucky to live near Vicki Boutin! She had a garage sale last year which I bought TONS of things, this year I tamed myself, but came away with LOTS of goodies for $30! I will take a picture later just to make you all jealous... hehehe!

After, we decided to go to the Howell's Pumpkin Farm, since it was such a nice day! I took TONS of photos, and haven't gone through a lot yet, but thought I would share with you this one of cute little Taylor:

ROAR!!!! Dinosaurs Go To School at Luv-a-Lot Daycare!

Hi everyone! Every week, I am going to start to dedicate a post or two to what we are doing in the daycare. Parents will be able to see their kids ïn action, and for all you scrappy readers, you might get an idea of some activities to do with your kids at home!

For the last two weeks, our theme was "DINOSAURS GO TO SCHOOL" We have been learning about dinosaurs and the rules at daycare (or school). We started our letters- and had our Letter A day! Here is a picture of Taylor painting with apples:

She really LOVES to do her crafts (even if sometimes she tries to eat the paint *sigh*)

Today we learned a new song about dinosaurs and then did a dinosaur dancing craft! Here is Derek concentrating hard on making his dinosaurs dance:

I had music playing while the kids used plastic dinosaurs to paint with. After they glued on some dinosaurs, to end up with:

A Rough, Tough Sort of Week...

A lot of stuff has happened this week, which has thrown everything into a whirlwind, but life goes on... and whatever doesn't break us, makes us stronger, right?

Anyones, I can't elaborate on what has happened, but those of you, who know me, will know what I am talking about soon enough.

Some good news though, my darling Jordan turned 7! I can't believe she is 7 already, where did the time go!!!

Here is a picture of her on the morning of her birthday, waiting at the bus stop...

I don't think its going to be much longer, that I will get to pick out the cutesy clothes for her too (boo hoo!).... She had a pretty good birthday, just a bit rushed! After daycare ended, we made her fav- tacos, then cake, then presents, then off to her first dance class an hour later! WOW!!

Some REALLY good news though! I just got most of permission forms from parents in the daycare, so I will soon be starting some daycare/blogging posts for the parents to see what their kiddos have been up too, and for all of you with kids to get some neat ideas to use at your home with your kids! I am so excited about this!! Here is a picture of Taylor... yes SHE LOVES CRAFTS... seriously she stands and points at the crayons bin, the paint, the stamps... everything... I have quite the little crafter on my hands!

Here she is painting her paper plate green, we made these into little frogs for our literacy day! We revolve a series of activities around this book:

We played lots of fun games, and even tried our hand at leap frog! TOO CUTE!

Last but not least, some scrappy fun for you... I completed another layout using my Scrapbook Nook Design Team Kit. Can I tell you how much I love this kit? Here is what I created:

My friend, Deanna took some Halloween Pictures last year, and I am just getting around to scrapping them! I also entered this into a sketch contest at: CORD SCRAPBOOK STUDIO.. with a sketch from Jillibean Soup Design Team Member: Julie Bonner (Yes I LOVE her sketches!!)

Anyways, hopefully this week will end on a high note! My mom is coming in to visit us, and to help/celebrate Jordan's birthday at the Little DIVA BFF Spa! This looks like SOOO much fun! I can't wait!!!

I never got a chance to post some recent pictures from our last camping trip! The weather, well, was not so good, but our spirits were high, since we got a new pop up trailer! (a definate step up from the 1979 antique trailer we had!). Their were 6 families in total, 11 kids and 8 parents, and two teenagers! Plus, some friends came for the day and evening! lol!

Jordan has been obsessed with catching "big foot"ever since seeing the movie Judy Moody. She actually set traps, and was reading her book : "how to catch big foot"the whole weekend. The funny thing is, ALL the kids got into it! Here is a picture of her with her book:

Taylor, like camping, but was a bit under the weather with her new teeth coming in, but that didn't stop this cutie patoutie!

For the next close up, I punched out leaves out of the yellow/golden paper with a leave punch, then added the same size square, in a different colour to the back of it, to let the leaves really stand out!

A Nook Layout using Creative Scrapper Sketch

Hi everyone! How are you surviving the week? This week has been going VERY smooth, considering its the first week back into our school routine.... I keep thinking, something has to go wrong... but as luck has had it, its been a fantastic week (holding my breath!)...

Today, I thought I would share with you a layout I did with my Scrapping Nook Design Team Kit I got this month! I was so excited when I saw it, as this line was on my "must have" list from CHA this summer! I also LOVED the sketch at Creative Scrappers this week, so used that as my starting point! Labour Day Vacation and First Day of School!

We went away for one last blast of summer this past weekend in our new pop-up trailer!! I have a lot of pictures I am still sorting out, but here is a picture of our new camper:

Thank goodness we had it, because there was a crazy storm on Saturday night, but we stayed nice and dry! Once again, the kids had a blast playing with their friends (there were six families there!) and Jordan had a great time "hunting for BIG FOOT"... it was too funny! We got back last night, and got ready for the first day of school! It was freezing this morning, but that didn't damper Jordan's spirits of school! Here are her first day pictures:

She was so excited to have her best friends in her class again, and to have the same teacher as last year! Josh played the cool SK kid, and barely cracked a smile when I said it was time to go to the bus. I think he misses running around outside all day in the summer. He has a new teacher this year, which I know he is going to love! Here are his first day pictures:

You should be arriving from the Best Creation Inc. Blog! Today I am going to share you a layout I did of my son's first day at school year! The school line had the perfect colors and embellies to make my little man really shine! Here is my layout:

I used bazzill Alphabet templates to sew the word Jitters on! I thought the hand sewing would give it a "jittery" look! If you don't have the templates, you can just print your own letters in pencil and then use a paper piercer to create holes and then sew away! I also added some cross stitching (3 stitches on three sides) for some added detail!

I absolutely LOVE the metal and chipboard embellishments! Here is another close up of them:

A scary week...

Just when I thought I was starting to get things under control and organized again, my world was rocked when literally a few hours after my last post about my son's 5th birthday my sweet little one year old, Taylor woke up from her nap early, and was struggling to breath. It was more of a grunt with every breath, so I called Telehealth. I knew she was getting enough air because I saw no signs of blueish lips; however, I was still really worried! They dispatched an ambulance immediately for her, and that is when I started to get really worried! What if something was really wrong??? What could it be?!! Luckily my best friend brought Macdonalds for the daycare, and stayed to watch the kiddos, while I made the trip to the hospital. The doctors and nurses were great with her. She had so many tests, and things done to her, she was truly a little trooper.

I have a picture of her on my phone, but I can't seem to figure out how to get it off!.... hmmm...
We got admitted to the hospital, and Taylor was hooked up to all sorts of machines to monitor her. My husband returned with my overnight things and my camera, and Taylor and I stayed and endured three days, two nights of delicious hospital food (yay right!)... her favorite show- Hi Five, over and over again... and yes many, many, many books!! She perked up by the next morning, but was still on her IV until we left. She was diagnosed with a respiratory virus, that seemed to hit her very hard. Here is a photo of Taylor (she was actually MUCH better here than after she arrived at the hospital... this was taken about 5 hours after she arrived):

Okay, let me share a scrappy project that I created that I have place in my bedroom to remind me of how lucky I am to have my three kiddos:

The worst thing, is I missed my son's 5th birthday :(.... My dad and stepmom did a great job at making him feel special though (thanks guys!)....

I finally made it into my scraproom tonight, so I am going to have some things to share soon... I hope the turmoil in my life has subsided... and no more hospital visits!! (twice in one week was not fun!)

Happy Birthday to my little man!!!

On that note, I wish I had some more scrappy things to share with you but it was quite the weekend! We had a garage sale on Saturday with both kids playing in soccer tournament that day too! While they were at home, they had a lemonade stand, which was too cute:

I was so happy to get rid of a lot, and that night was FINALLY going to be my scrappy night that I really needed but... a little trip around the block ended up in the emergency room with Josh. He tends to go really fast on his bike and he went flying over the handle bars.... and well, 4 stitches later, and a mommy who couldn't handle seeing her little boy scream like that and get stitched up like he was a piece of clothing! I have seen and handled a lot in my lifetime, but I couldn't handle seeing poor little Joshy go through that (I know I am a wimp!)....

The next day was his birthday party too, he was really timid at the indoor playground, but once he knew his chin would be okay he was fine. Here are some pics of him too:

Phew!!! Yesterday was daycare day and Jordan started basketball camp (she LOVED it!), and a trip to the dentist for me, and today is Josh's actual birthday, so we are going to be having some friends and family over too! Tonight I WILL get into my scrap room! lol! Until later....

Yes, that is Josh... entering the water by holding onto a tube during his tube adventure!! He went totally underwater and stayed there for what seemed like an eternity, but was probably like 5 seconds... I though FOR SURE he wouldn't want to go on again, and all he said to my dad who was driving "Grandpa, the tube is suppose to stay above the water not under the water!"..... In the meantime, I have been busy trying to get my house back in order from the two weeks away! We also had bunkbeds for Josh and Jordan delivered the day after we got back! On top of that its Josh's 5th birthday party this weekend!!! ahhhhhh!!! But don't worry I have some scrappy things to show you in the next few days so stay tuned!!!

Yippee! I am off for a couple of weeks now, and can't wait to get away to the cottage soon! Yesterday was the last day of daycare for awhile, and I let Taylor paint! I added some food colouring to some vanilla yogurt, and off she went! Well, actually she ate more than she painted, but she really liked it! Here are some cute pics of my sweetie:

Okay, it must be summer, because I am so slacking on the blogging! Actually I have been busy with the school age kiddos during nap time, which is usually when I catch up online, and write a blog or two entry! So now I have quite a bit to catch up on!

We have been busy doing the usual stuff- Cheeky monkeys (an indoor playground)... splash pads, parks, etc.... but the biggest news is we decided to redo our bedroom, so that has been occupying a lot of our time...

Josh has been really into sporting a Mohawk lately... do all boys go through this phase:

I totally forgot to post this last week! Its been nice having our first week of summer daycare (which means only a few days a week I work because of all the teachers kids I have!)... and I have to say, I am LOVING it... and Jordan and Josh so need the break from the little kids here. I am so proud of my daughter Jordan! We were sent home a note from her teacher last week, saying she was going to get an award at the end of the year awards ceremony, so of course, I arranged to be there with bells on!

I had no idea, but Jordan got the highest academic average in her grade! I am so proud of her!! The best part is Jordan had no idea I was going to be there, and was shocked to see me there! It was too cute! Here is her all proud:

I miss her so much, every day, but especially today... She lived in Chicago, was a teacher, and had sooo many friends... I know today will be hard for everyone.... Hi Everyone!! Did you have a fabulous weekend? Once again, the weekend slipped by and its Monday again! This is our last week of school for the kiddos, so they are in crazy mode and I'm in survival mode! This past weekend, we had an early birthday party for Taylor, and of course soccer (Jordan scored her first goal!), and Taylor had her 1 year photo shoot with Deanna (can't wait to see these!!!)... but first some scrappy stuff to share!

Best Creations paired up with Spellbinders, and I was lucky to get the LACY PENNANT DIE to create a Party Banner with! So since it was Taylor's 1st birthday coming up, AND we were going camping that weekend, I dug out my GONE CAMPING LINE. Here is what I created:

Luv-a-Lot Daycare

Hi everyone!!

So today, I thought I would share with you some pics of my home daycare... I closed the daycare today, since Taylor had a fever of 103 yesterday, and now with her napping, and the older two kiddos at school, I got to clean up a bit and take some photos of the daycare! We recently moved it upstairs, as I was constantly running up and down the stairs, and in the end seemed to be spending more time in our living space with the kids than downstairs in the daycare room. So my great big idea was to switch everything. I LOVE IT!! I love having more space downstairs to our selves... and I;m finally looking forward to decorating (HAHAHA... just need the time to do it!!)

So my daycare is called Luv-a-Lot Daycare... and which is why my blog is called Luv-a-Lot Land, and many of you know me as luvalotmum on the boards too! I am lucky enough to be full with kids year round AND lucky enough this summer to take two days off a week to spend with my kiddos on summer activities. (love having teachers kids!)... So here it is:

Best Creations ROCK STAR and Weekend Update!

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! It was non-stop busy for us (but lots of fun!)... This weekend we ventured off to camp for the first time in two years! Usually we go a few times every year, but with Taylor being so young last summer, we didn't! This summer will be a whole different story! Our kids absolutely love camping, and had a blast! They were so worn out, that they slept like rocks (gotta love that!)...

I guess there are worse things to forget camping... can you guess what we forgot? Yep, a bib! She loved it though... and she especially LOVEd the bath she got after! lol!

Jordan getting ready to for bed! She loved relaxing while the other two kids slept. She loves the outdoors so much, we found out she collected a few rocks and slept with them under her pillow!!??

Josh was his usual goofy self, and insisted that we played mini golf with 3x's a day! He was an expert stick collector for us!

Finally, we celebrated Fathers day!! I have the best husband in the whole world (and the best dad!)... Thanks so much for all that you do, for being my best friend, and making me laugh every day! Love you!!!

Now, one of my favorite new lines this month from Best Creations is ROCK STAR!! I love the colours and the print, and well, there is so much too LOVE about it! Here is the layout I created with this line:

This is a layout of my niece, Kayden last year swimming at her Grandpa Duncan's Pool! What a poser!! Here are some close ups:

EEK!! Don't you just love those hearts!! I punched them out with my favorite 3 heart punch by stampin up, using some sea salt glitter paper, and for the middle heart, I added some seed beads from my stash! I love the effect! I used Helmars 3 Dimensional Scrap Dots to make sure those beads were not going anywhere! Here are some more cute beads, I placed on the border stickers:

ALL ABOUT BABIES Classes- Best Creations and October Afternoon!

I will be teaching two classes next week at the Scrapping Nook in Welland!

The All about babies GIRLS class is sure to be hit, with the all too cute OCTOBER AFTERNOON ducks in a row collection pack, that we will be using! You will have tons of embellies and paper left over to create more! Here is what we will be working on:

Best Creations "Loops and Scoops"

I thought I would share a quick layout today that I did for Best Creations! I love this new June Release "loops and scoops"... I have so much planned to do with it! Its going to be so much fun! Its perfect for so many different things! Be sure to check it out over at Best Creations!!!

I used my silhouette to cut out the ice cream cone and ice cream! I love this picture of Jordan!!!

Yesterday was my dad's 65th birthday! Happy birthday!! So glad I got to spend some time with you, and glad the kiddo's made it too after their soccer pictures (although with the late night, I might be paying for it today!)

A Wilton Weekend Update.. and Best Creations...

Wow!! I can't believe its Monday, already!!! Where did the weekend go??? This weekend seemed to slip on by!

On Friday, was "date night"for Jordan and I! It's been a long time since we have gone out together, so it was very special! She has become so grown up over this past year. We went out to eat to her favorite place- MacDonalds, then heading to the movies to see:

SUCH a super cute movie!!! Jordan has been reading her books for awhile, and couldn't wait! After the movie, we heading out to buy another Judy Moody book, and of course she spotted the book "how to find BIG FOOT"... (trust me, when you see the movie, you will get it!).... well, I told her after she read the chapter book that she picked out, then I would get her the "big foot" book. She was on a mission, and read the chapter book in 24 hours!

On Saturday, was the first soccer game for our kids this year! They both moved up a level, so Jordan is playing in the under 8's now (and is still one of the tallest kids, even though she is only 6!)... and Josh is playing in the under 6's! They both did AMAZING... yes I can gloat, but really for their first time playing up, and Jordan playing on a field twice the size of what's she's use to! Jordan was SO close in scoring... the ball literally STOPPED on the goal line... and little more uphm and it would have gone in! Here are some pics of the two of them:

Of course taylor was a trooper and had a great time watching:

On Sunday, it was just the kids and I, so we heading to St. Catharines for some shopping. We finished our garden in the back for the daycare kiddo's too... can't wait to get pictures of it with the kids! they are lovin' the worms this year!
