Sketchy Challenge with Canadian Scrapbooker

Hi everyone! Have you had a chance to play with the new sketch Challenge this month!! I loved it, and I couldn't wait to have a chance to play with it!  Here is the layout that I made:

I couldn't remember if I actually scrapped these photos of Taylor yet! Have you ever done that?  I liked them anyways, and decided to use them with Fancy Pants Designs- Collecting Moments Collection. I fell in love with the colours in this collection, and so many fun embellishments to go with it!

Here is the sketch I played with:

As you can probably tell, I flipped the sketch and made the number of photos work with the sketch.  I used my Crafters Workshop stencil and Distress stian to make a semi circular pattern at the bottom of the layout:

I also sewed (yes I said sew!) around the semi circle with some Navy May Arts Twine. Love how this looks against the yellow! I then layered with some more embellishments from Fancy Pants.

I  bought this shirt for my Taylor because I LOVED that yellow flower, and wanted to make one on my layout. I used some yellow dotted Core-dinations Cardstock and cut out the large Tattered Floral from Sizzix. I thought the yellow was a bit bright so I added some distress stain in mustard seed and weathered wood to get the colour that I wanted. I loved that the stain really accented the cardstock "dots". I layered on top of the flower with some corrrugated navy and grey paper by Fancy Pants.

l also added bits and pieces on the layout, because I am such an embellishment scrapper! I added some flower, tickets, hearts and more for some added detail!

I hope you have time to come play with Canadian Scrapbooker this month!  We would love to see what you create (and you even might get a chance to be published!) Good Luck everyone!

Great layout. I love the blue and yellow, what a great paper collection. I really like your adaptation of the sketch. Super cute pictures too. I definitely need to get back to my scrapbooking.
