Layout #3 & Layout #4 with My Creative Scrapbook!

Are you all recovering from the weekend?  This is the first weekend in a long time that we didn't have "too much" going on, and I still managed NOT to find the time to write a post on Sunday! That was most likely because of the disaster zone that has been lurking in Taylors room for months... yes months... I have just shut the door and tried to forget the countless little toys that covered the room!  I spent a good three hours in there Sunday morning... and I realized... SHE DOES HAVE A CARPET!  lol!  I organized, cleaned and threw things out when she wasn't looking. I even managed to get all of her "little things"  in a bin and put it so she can't get to it! I think she is now scared to play in her room though... not sure of what to do in a clean room!

So my plans for writing this up on Sunday morning before the gym (which didn't happen either) and before grocery shopping, shopping for winter boots for the kids, and getting Jordan to basketball practice... were put on hold.  So today you get two layouts!  Phew...

I loved drawing from the colours in Taylor outfit! I love the colour gray with pink right now I gathered up all the embellishments and paper in this kit to create a fun layout around these colours.  Here is a detailed shot of the awesome vellum titles in this kit! There is so many of them, and the possibilities are endless!

My last layout I am sharing is actually the first layout I created.  I was drawn to the lacy trim in this kit... even though its not my style... I really liked it, and wanted to make a super girly, pretty page with lots of texture!  Here is what I came up with:

Some detailed shots (yes I ACTUALLY got out my sewing machine on this one!)

SO PRETTY... all the layering and textures on here!! Okay today is a special treat for you!  A tutorial I created is up on the My Creative Scrapbook Blog.... all about how to use all those flowers in your kit!  Head on over for a look: HERE!

Be sure to head to the store to get your KIT today! They are going to run out fast.... and the best news... is there are MEGA KITS for sale... something you don't want to miss for sure!!!!!

One last thing... be sure to stop by and see (or drool) over the inspiration from the design team this month! Truly amazing! The gallery can be found: HERE.

Layout #2 with My Creative Scrapbook!

Happy Weekend everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! This weekend so far as been filled with sports, sports, and sports.... It is such a juggling act on Saturday mornings, and I am truly grateful for all the help from family and friends to get my kids to and from activities.  Its hard to split myself in two directions to get two kids to their activities, in two different cities!

It's starting to get colder here now, and the leaves are coming down with determination of covering my entire front lawn... With Taryn away, means yard work for me and the kids... and the neighbourhood kids! lol!

Let me share with you my second layout created with the all too awesome NOVEMBER MAIN KIT by MY CREATIVE SCRAPBOOK! I loved this kit and we got a HEAP of flowers from the open book collection by Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper.  I decided to create a fun border using the flowers, and will share a tutorial on it later this month!  Here is the layout:

Here are some detailed shots too:

I loved this gold twine in the kit too!!! ALL the gold accents are amazing and so trendy right now!

My Creative Scrapbook Reveal!

So to start off... I want to say A HUGE THANK YOU to all of you that have left comments here, on my FB page, or have emailed and messaged me... you have all brought tears to my eyes (seriously!)... the ongoing support, and encouragement in this hobby always amazes me... and to each and every one of you THANK YOU so much!!! I truly, truly appreciate it, and it makes the ease of stepping down that much easier knowing I have supporters in my corner!

Like I promised... this isn't "goodbye".... I chose to stay with My Creative Scrapbook for lots of reasons... #1 the kits are amazing, and I am hoping that Pam will be sending some Doodlebug or Bella Blvd kits my way in the future (hint, hint... nudge.... nudge)... second... PAM and KRIS you have known that this was going to be a struggle for me, I think even before I did. You have always been willing to work with me with an open heart, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate it! I LOVE getting kits every month... and this is where I started off years ago, joining kit clubs, and working my way onto their design teams.  SO for now, I am hoping that this commitment will give me that creativeness that I so desire in my daily life, and a part that I can still share with everyone!

Today is their reveal, and for the first time, I took my time in creating.  I enjoyed the process and loved challenging myself with new colour combos in this kit...  IT IS AWESOME... the kit is filled with LOTS of amazing embellishments that will go far beyond the kit!  It was oodles & oodles of fun to play with. Now since, I will not have "much" to share anymore, I am hoping to spread out my posts, just in case this is my only creative time I have for the month... I was lucky enough to play with the main kit, and here was one of my favorite layouts:

I dug up an old black & white picture of Jordan and little miss Taylor.  I love that they have had a special bond, since an early age, even though there is SIX years difference.  Jordan is a little mummy to her, and I am sure she will always look out for her.  With my husband away, Jordan has always been the one to step up and help out... sometimes I forget she is only 10 years old.  I am grateful for her, and so proud of the responsible young lady she is growing up to be!

Here are a few close ups I took of the layout:

I LOVE the title pieces in this KIT there are so many different combos you can come up with! I also loved all the bits and pieces too! I layered a few of them here too!

Can't wait to share more with you!! NOW for the best part... there are several kits you can choose from... (and wouldn't this make a great XMAS present!) Here are the details below:

Some Goodbyes... but not forgotten

this is probably one of the hardest blog entries to write.  So sit back, grab a cup a tea, and hopefully I can bring light on the last few months....

I have been "hiding"  the struggles I have had for awhile, because I have never wanted to broadcast the troubles in my life.  I have always wanted to write about happy times and happy memories.  I am a full time optimist, even when people cringe when they wonder how I do it... So here it is...

The three companies that I LOVE LOVE LOVE so much, and have been a dream come true... I have decided to step down.... and here is there reason why:

Yep, these three monsters  kids.  You see, since my husband has started working away from home in April, I thought I actually would have more time to scrapbook (silly me!).  In fact, I have next to no time.  I can squeeze in 10 minutes here, and 10 minutes there, but to sit down and pour my heart into the hobby that I love so much, has been too hard.  I have slapped things down on a layout, in record time, but have not had the full creative feeling that I always use to get everytime I had some ME time.  I struggled with deadlines, keeping organized, and I felt like I was letting everyone down... my kids, and myself included.

On top of being a "single" mom for most of the time, I also work 50 plus hours a week running my own business.  I felt like that part was being neglected too. So I sat down and agonized over what to do.  Last year at this time, I would have thought I was crazy to give up on such amazing opportunities, but people change, situations change, and I knew what I had to do.....

I could not choose one company above another, as I LOVE THEM ALL.... so

Canadian Scrapbooker..... I still marvel at the thought of you "picking"  me out of all the crazy talented Canadian Scrapbookers out there!  You are the best magazine out there, and I will continue to submit and support you 100%!

Doodlebug Design....  I will never forget the feeling when I made the team for the first year... something I will never forget... I will continue to hoard your products and create the cutest little things with them! Thank you for all the colourful therapy you gave me, and for the sweetness and friendship!!

Bella Blvd...  Another team that was a complete dream of mine to make, and to belong to such a amazing creative group of designers! I have loved particpating in the creative journey and I have loved watching this company grow into a powerhouse in the scrapbooking industry.  I will continue to create and be inspired by this talented Bella Bunch!

There you have it... Its been a few weeks, and even after writing this, I still get teary eyed... I felt so close with so many of you, but in my heart I know this is the right choice.....

I know I will still create.... and share... it is a part of who I am.... You will still monthly posts with My Creative Scrapbook Kits... AND I am hoping to share more on this new journey....a journey with minimal stress, where I can create to create... when time permits!!!

THANK YOU ALL for supporting me and reading this blog over the years! It has grown leaps and bounds... I hope I can continue to inspire you... just in a different way!
