Little Miss Rainbow Brite

Today is my day up on the Doodlebug Design blog, and we are featuring WASHI TAPE this week! I am in love with washi tape, and I think I might have a hoarders problem when it comes to it now too! lol! don't we all?  Okay, back to washi tape :)... I created what I think is my favorite layout to date... yep I LOVE IT! Not only is it ALL washi tape, but it is so Taylor right now :)  She wears that Rainbow Shirt as soon as it is clean, and her rainbow leg warmers (even in the heat of summer), and yes rainbow underwear! lol!  Here is the layout:

I cut out a rainbow with my silhouette SD using cardstock the, wrapped each piece with a different colour of the Rainbow.  I also added some flock and pearls on the clouds.

I created banners with matching buttons on them too to round out the border at the top and bottom. And used a border punch to create the washi border on both sides. I also added some rainbow twine too! Gosh, I LOVE colour!

Hope I "brightened" everyones day with this fun layout!

Doodlebug 8 X 8 Album Inspiration

So one of my favorite things to do is go through old school photos and old school class photos!.... The problem is, I find them everywhere, so I wanted to create an album that I can add throughout the school year for each of my kids.  Doodlebugs Take Note Collection is awesome for School inspired projects, so off I went to start a project that will carry over, year after year.

I decided to start with the most recent year of my oldest daughter. She just finished her Grade Three year at Quaker Rd School  Here is what I completed so far:

I started with pictures from her first day of school. Waiting at the Bus Stop.  The next page (which I can't share the photo)  fits her class picture PERFECTLY! I love that!!!!

Some close ups:

The next page was her official school photo and some of her favourites in Grade Three.  The next page was some photos of her activities, and accomplishments! So super proud of how many activities she did, and what she accomplished!

I added a little pocket with some more team photos for her too!

I have one more page to do- last day of school & she also received the Proficiency Award for Highest Academic Achievement in her Year (third year in a row!).... so super proud of my girl!!! Hoping to tackle Josh's Album too-once I am a little more organized in the scrap room! Hoping it will be done in the next couple of weeks! Phew! I miss having a spot for everything!

Come back tomorrow for my MUST HAVE SUMMER CHA list! (it might be a bit long.... lol!)

Doodlebug & Page Maps!

Are a perfect fit, don't you think! I love using sketches, and I absolutely LOVE Page Maps!  I discovered Page Maps when I first started scrapping, and have been a huge fan ever since!  This week on the Doodlebug Blog we are showcasing these wonderful sketches (cards and layouts!) to show how easy and fun it is to use our favorite Doodlebug products with them!

Here is the layout I created:

From this fabulous sketch (May 2013):

Super cute, right?  And some detailed shots:

Be sure to check the Doodlebug blog this week for some awesome inspiration!!

On the homefront-  MOVING day is quickly approaching (YIKES!) YES... on Thursday we will begin moving some of our things into the house while THIS Friday is the BIG MOVE!! So super excited! So you might not here from me for  little while, until the computer/internet is up and running!

This past weekend it has been SUPER challenging. The end of the year is always so busy, and with this being our last big weekend to pack, we knew we had a pretty good challenge ahead of us! It didn't help that on Thursday night, Jordan came down with a fever, and eventually on Sat. had to head to Urgent Care, to discover she had strep throat... Oh yes and on Friday, she also got a Pallette wider at the orthodontist... not very pleasant for eating and a sore throat... So needless to say we have been getting her back on her feet!

Josh and Taylor had a busy weekend with playdates and BOTH of them scoring their first goals in soccer!  I just wish my husband took my camera for some photos :(...

Well, until next time (which might not be until next week!) YIKES! ...  Hopefully my next post will be in our NEW HOUSE!!!  Have a good week everyone!

Handsome Dude!

All week long the Doodlebug Design Team will be inspiring you with some awesome Doodlebug Projects with a spin of masculinity!  I took the obvious collection-Boys Only to create my layout BUT I wanted to make it less Cutesy and more "grown up" for my son Josh.

Here is the layout:

I used some die cut gears (Taylored Expression Dies)  and used them as a mask to mist, spray and splatter. Love the boyish effect!!!

Here are some details:

Be sure to check in on the other DT gals this week, you will be amazed at some of the projects!

I played along with the Tiny Floral Templates and dug up some of some Flower Box Collection paper by Doodlebug. I loved them and thought they would make the perfect flowers, so I layered them up to make two flowers on my layout.

Take Note! by Doodlebug Design

This week the Doodlebug Design Team is revealing their awesome creations on the Doodlebug Blog! I was first up, and I have to say I LOVE this collection (yes I say that about every Doodlebug Collection!)... but this one makes my heart skip a beat.  When I first saw it, I loved how perfect it would be for everyday layouts, and then when Doodlebug revealed the Simply Put Album Inserts, I knew I wanted to make some Project Life Pages for my Project Life Album this year!  So you were probably wondering why I wasn't posting any more project life, lol.... well now you know, I was saving it for the big reveal for Doodlebug!.... So here it is... my week FIVE:

Some close ups:

The best thing that I love about this collection is those cute little library pockets! I added some extra photos from the week with some washi tape tags:

So be prepared for more PL and Doodlebug together... A match made in heaven if you ask me!  Oh yes... and you can have a chance to WIN this collection... all the details are on the Doodlebug Blog Post: HERE!

Who's getting ready for Easter?  I know little Miss Taylor, enjoyed seeing the Easter Bunny this weekend. She didn't stop talking and hopping around, like she knew "bunny talk" I have to say it was very cute!!! Out of all my kids, she is my outgoing one, Jordan and Josh would barely say Hi to family, and Taylor would go up and start conversations with complete strangers... lol!

Some more AWESOME NEWS.... but no picture to go along with it, YET... is, Jordan and her basketball team got the silver medal at their Ontario Cup this weekend!! So super proud of the girls, and the best news is, that they are all together (minus one girl :(  ) for next year, in the same division... The best is the girls get along so well, brings back a lot of memories for when I played, and am so happy that Jordan gets to have the same experience!

Stars & Stripes, Canadian Style

This week is our reveal party for the new collection Stars and Stripes by Doodlebug Design!  At first, I have to say I said OH NO!.... How am I going to make this work with being Canadian.... BUT the best thing is.... IT IS SO VERSATILE!! I actually REALLY REALLY LOVE this collection!  The double sided paper is great, because there is the more American side, and then a simpler, versatile pattern on the other! LOVE!! The colors in this collection are awesome, right up my alley!

So today, I wanted to share with you a layout I created about my youngest daughter, Taylor, on her 2nd birthday-  Yes... she is a Canada Day Baby!  She will always have firework on her birthday, and a parade! How fun!

Here is the layout:

The pinwheels are my absolute favorite, well, along with the cute little star gems too!  Some details:

For a chance to win this collection, we have a GIVEAWAY on the Doodlebug Blog:
We'll be watching to see who REPINS our projects, who comments on our blog posts and anyone that leaves a comment after a blog post you like. We'll pick three lucky winners and announce them next Monday 3/25.

A Little Love for Photos!

This month on the Doodlebug Design Team, we  were asked to create things we LOVE... well being a scrapbooker, who doesn't LOVE photos!  I usually just throw all my photos into box and then I try to find the ones I need... most of the time, I end up printing some again, because they are lost in the sea of photos! So I came up with this idea to organize my photos... so far.... so good!   I created this fun photo box using the LOVEBIRDS collection by Doodlebug and I absolutely LOVE using their new Washi Tape!

I loved this project so much, I picked up some more, to alter, and hopefully get my box of photos from the past sorted away!

Before I go, I wanted to share some photos from yesterdays Valentines Day party:
