Muffin Tin Advent Calendar with Doodlebug Design Home for the Holidays!

Yes another blog post today!  This is by far my most favorite project that I have made in a long time. When given the assignment to make an advent calendar, I usually shy away from the altering projects, but I know I have been wanting to make a reusable one for years, and this was my big opportunity! I came up with a muffin tin advent that can be used every year! I created this while I was on my Scrapbook Retreat with Two Scrapbook Friends, and I have to say people were confused why I was bringing a muffin tin to the crop!  After it was done though, people were flocking to take photos of it (which was very humbling!)  Nothing does it better than a little Doodlebug to brighten your Christmas everyday!

I started off by spray painting a couple of coats of white paint over the mini muffin tin. Next up I decided to stick with a green and red theme for the base and cut out 12 squares of each (using cardstock) measuring 2 1/4 X 2 1/4. After I layered each square with different pattern paper from this collection and topped it off with stickers and embellishments.  On the back of each cardstock square, I added strong magnet to allow the advent calendar to be used every year.
