April Sketchy Challenge with Canadian Scrapbooker... DIY style!

Happy Monday everyone!

It was a very creative weekend at my house as two of my kiddos were down with another bug, so it seemed we were a little house bound watching movies and such, which meant for me a little creative time!  I  was super excited when the DIY Simple Stories collection came out! I LOVED all the bright colours, but what I loved most was its versatility! I am going to be able to use this collection on my Project Life, Layouts, Cards and so much more!  I thought I would dive right in and get to work making a layout with the Sketchy Challenge this month at Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine:

Supplies: Patterned Paper, Stickers, Tags, Frames, Chipboard: Simple Stories; Enamel Dots: Doodlebug Design; Adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesive EZ Runner and Foam Squares by 3L

Isn't it awesome! I LOVE The bright colors and all the do-hickey stickers you can add on!  Here is the sketch that I based it on, by the most talented Sue Sykes:

Some detailed shot too:

Simple Stories makes it easy to layer stickers on top of one another! I love the fact that you get so many different stickers in a pack too!

My most favourite of the sticker packs is the clear stickers that come in BLACK or WHITE clear, and you can layer them on all kinds of things (like I did on the heart sticker and polaroid frame)

Yep, not the simpliest of tasks, but I fussy cut the word enjoy from one of the patterned papers! I really wanted it in pink!  The sunglasses are chipboard (yep I said chipboard too!)

Finally they have all these awesome tags and paper pieces that are perfect for layering on! I LOVE them! I fussy cut the word Lovin life out of a piece of patterned paper and them added some stickers and chipboard to the title.

So I hope you have time to play with us this month! Head on over to the Sketchy Gallery and upload your creation today, for a chance to be published!
