October MAIN kit from My Creative Scrapbook

Hello Blog Readers!

Okay... to start off with... ME BAD! Yes, I have been extremely busy, and very neglectful of this blog, and of my creative work the past couple of months.  There has been a lot of changes in our lives and we needed to sit down as a family to decide what was best for us.  I think we are finally stepping into the right direction, and with a little (or maybe a lot!) of time our family will be happier and healthier (and maybe even more time to create!) I wish I could say more about the turmoil we have been going through, but it has been quite personal and eventually the storm will pass :)

I didn't want to miss a chance to share with you my latest creations though! I was given the MAIN KIT for OCTOBER from My Creative Scrapbook! (I must put out a big shout out to Pam for being so patient with me)  Once again this kit is amazing! It was stuffed full of one of my favourite companies out there- Simple Stories!  So here are the four layouts I created this month:

SUPER FUN! Right! Love all the colours in this kit and how well the two collections from Simple Stories goes together!  Be sure to head over to the MCS blog for more inspirational ideas for this kit this month, and be sure to check out all the kits and design teams projects! You won't be disappointed!

Sketchy Challenge for July with Canadian Scrapbooker!

Happy Monday everyone!  Well it has been quite the two weeks FULL of surprises! A couple of weeks ago Taylor got the chicken pox or hand foot mouth disease, and trust me... it wasn't fun! The poor wee girl was really sick, but at least she perked up for our official first week off of summer vacation! We managed to go camping in the States at Allegany State Park, and we had a blast! I have really missed camping since last year was non existent with the move!

So YES I have been a very bad blogger lately, and YES not as much crafty time lately... but I promise you that is going to change over the next couple of weeks, because once again my husband is heading out to work. (BOO!)....

Today and a little bit all week too, I have lots to share! So sit back and enjoy some craftiness! I have had this layout done since the beginning of July, I know can you believe that! But I just never seemed to have the time to photograph it, blog about it, etc.... I finally feel like I have my groove back and this collection: Good Day Sunshine by Simple Stories is full of colour and FUN!

Here is the sketch I used for the month from Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine's Sketchy Challenge:

I replaced the middle photo with one of the cards found in this collection! Love how this turned out! Here are some close ups:

Thanks for letting me share today!!! Be sure to come back tomorrow for more fun! (oh yes... and be sure to upload your creation of the sketch too, to the GALLERY: HERE!)

April Sketchy Challenge with Canadian Scrapbooker... DIY style!

Happy Monday everyone!

It was a very creative weekend at my house as two of my kiddos were down with another bug, so it seemed we were a little house bound watching movies and such, which meant for me a little creative time!  I  was super excited when the DIY Simple Stories collection came out! I LOVED all the bright colours, but what I loved most was its versatility! I am going to be able to use this collection on my Project Life, Layouts, Cards and so much more!  I thought I would dive right in and get to work making a layout with the Sketchy Challenge this month at Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine:

Supplies: Patterned Paper, Stickers, Tags, Frames, Chipboard: Simple Stories; Enamel Dots: Doodlebug Design; Adhesive: Scrapbook Adhesive EZ Runner and Foam Squares by 3L

Isn't it awesome! I LOVE The bright colors and all the do-hickey stickers you can add on!  Here is the sketch that I based it on, by the most talented Sue Sykes:

Some detailed shot too:

Simple Stories makes it easy to layer stickers on top of one another! I love the fact that you get so many different stickers in a pack too!

My most favourite of the sticker packs is the clear stickers that come in BLACK or WHITE clear, and you can layer them on all kinds of things (like I did on the heart sticker and polaroid frame)

Yep, not the simpliest of tasks, but I fussy cut the word enjoy from one of the patterned papers! I really wanted it in pink!  The sunglasses are chipboard (yep I said chipboard too!)

Finally they have all these awesome tags and paper pieces that are perfect for layering on! I LOVE them! I fussy cut the word Lovin life out of a piece of patterned paper and them added some stickers and chipboard to the title.

So I hope you have time to play with us this month! Head on over to the Sketchy Gallery and upload your creation today, for a chance to be published!

Little Red Wagon Challenge #231

Hi Everyone! It's Wednesday so its Little Red Wagon Challenge day! YIPPEE!!! Today's challenge is to create a masculine card! Well, I don't have a lot of masculine paper/embellies, as I tend to buy everything that is cutesy, but I dug up some old Simple Stories that I remembering I had, and here is what I cam up with:

I loved the treebark hearts that I have been holding on to, and thought that even though its a hear... being made out of a "tree" makes it a total masculine embellie, don't you think?

Are you going to play along with us this week? If you do be sure to check out the Girlfriends creations and link up your creation on the Little Red Wagon BLOG.

Finally, Have you had a chance to check out PAGE MAPS for this month?? The Bella Blvd Design Team gals have teamed up to create some layouts with this month's sketches! Be sure to check it out (my layout is the double layout!) I will post of layout tomorrow on my blog here... for now, here is a sneak peak:

BOYS RULE SCRAPBOOK KIT REVEAL!

So happy to be part of this amazing kit club, for the next two months! You don't want to miss out on this  kit, I am seriously in LOVE with it! Today I am sharing with you my first project on their blog!

This kit has so many different possibilities!  I decided for my first layout to create it based on the Simple Stories 3 X 4 Cards and Stickers. I used several cards and cut some of them to work on top of other cards to create a fun, grid-like layout.

I used a circle punch to punch out the hand on the HIGH FIVE card, and added a popped up circle photo in the missing spot, I then used the hand as an embellishment.

I used the stickers from the Simple Stories Snap sheets to embellish some of the cards too:

Finally- the journaling!  My son this past summer, LOVED tubing, I was a nervous wreck, as he couldn’t go fast enough! He has always been a thrill seeker!

I am so looking forward to the next couple of months with BOYS RULE KITS! I hope to inspire you to help you get your craft on.

Sketchy Challenge with Canadian Scrapbooker!

Happy Monday Tuesday everyone! Since I was off with a recovery, sick wee girl yesterday, today feels like Monday!   We had a super-duper busy weekend, but it was all good because I got to see most of my girlfriends from school! Some of us go way back... as far as kindergarten and some of us we met in High School!  One of my good friends flew in from Scotland with her wee little man, and husband and we had the pleasure of being there for his baptismal! Saturday was also filled with basketball practice for Jordan, and FINALLY pictures with my good friend- Deanna Williams! If you live near or around the Niagara area, Deanna does such a fabulous job of pictures... I had some "school photos" done this year, instead of ordering them through the school, I thought this was a way better option! Plus different poses! Can't wait until I get them back! After pictures were play dates and sleepovers... and just busy, busy busy! I am sure many of you can relate! Here is picture of me and my girlfriends!

And of course our kiddos wanted some pictures too:

Okay back to some scrappy business! I meant to post my take on the September Sketchy Challenge this weekend, but with everything going on, and then Taylor getting sick, time slipped away! And here we are in October now, with a new challenge, which I haven't started yet, but hoping to get a jump on it soon! SO here you go everyone Octobers Sketch is here:

You can upload your take on the sketch: HERE!

Now let's back track to September! I still can't believe how fast it went!  Here is the sketch from September:

And here is my take on it! Yet again, I seemed to grab the Simple Stories line! I find they just work REALLY well for these sketches, and I seriously LOVE all their paper! lol!
